Citát dne

Karel Havlíček Borovský

  • Corruption even at ČT ?

Dvorak Petr logo CT cerny ramecekHe announced five years ago this month that he would step up his attacks on its finances and activities and see where it took him. On Jan. 8 of this year he explained in detail how contracts with outside production companies at ČT are used to steal money. Many in the media who still make fun of Soukup have a past or current connection to the money pipeline. Candidates for CEO of ČT - and esp. incumbent Petr Dvořák - should explain what they plan to do to stop the theft, but the "independent and democratic" media won't even bother to ask. Full Article>

P.S. Corruption is present in the country at all levels of government. It would be abnormal and unnatural for there to be none in the publicly owned Czech Television. There is a very lucrative "breeding ground" for it to influence the thinking and behaviour of the population by those for whom the interests of the country and its population are not paramount, even though they constantly talk about it. That is why politicians are so protective of it. I haven't met a citizen who is enthusiastic about CT? I wonder who pays for the surveys that show that citizens are enthusiastic about CT's programming? "The programme is the old programme",comes the frequent answer, or in new packaging. JŠ

  • Czech TV is liquidating capable editors. Is the modern "party purge" beginning?!

Stratilik Ondrej CT The management has taken a swipe at the CT reporters. The new head of Czech Television, Jan Souček, stressed in several interviews after his arrival that he would keep an eye on the Czech Television Reporters programme. As it seems, this is now actually happening. A few days ago, editor Ondřej Stratilík was dismissed from the programme. The reason for this was allegedly his trip to Sweden for a report, when the travel and accommodation for the public journalist was paid for by the Swedish Arms Association.

Stratilík was told by his superiors on 9 November that he should immediately stop all the reports he had distributed to CT reporters.

Wollner said it was most important for CT not to advertise the company in question. "We set that as a condition of the trip in advance, that we would not mention any of their products in any way. We told ourselves that we were going to make a political, military-political travelogue in a region that closely borders Russia across the sea."

At the same time, he stressed that the reportage is morally absolutely unquestionable. "There is nothing to question about the reportage. The problem is that Mr. Stratilík started doing a report on Mr. Strnad some time ago. Mr Strnad undoubtedly contacted the management of Czech Television, so the management of the television station did not delay, started looking for a year-old report and Mr Stratilík was, how shall I put it, well, fired from Reporters and offered a completely undignified job."

  • Why did reporter Jiří Hynek disappear so suddenly from the screens of CT?!

Hynek Jiri mikrofonWe've known each other for years in courtrooms. I consider him to be a reporter of whom there will never be enough, although in the current Czech Republic nothing can be ruled out. In his work behind the scenes, he cannot always behave in a "model" way if he is to get as close as possible to the truth, which is necessarily real on the ground.

He cites "health reasons" as the reason for his departure? I'm afraid the real reason may be his investigative reporting against the Russians and their assets on Czech soil. There is now a classic media silence after his departure, just as after Mark Wollner's departure from the Czech Television's Reporters. Nora Fridrichová remains at CT (the public has not learned the details of the case). By the way, her former husband Milan Fridrich studied in St. Petersburg at the end of the totalitarian era. For a possible explanation, I recommend the link below - Russia has always worked and is working in the long term. Unless we start to address the real causes, the powerful will still be able to play their games at the expense of our country, regardless of whether they live in Russia or in our country. JŠ
