I spoke to an employee who was removing anything that resembled JDEUX from bus and tram stops. He told me that the City Hall had not been able to remove any of the JDEUX products. Prague still does not have proper service contracts, the bus stops are not as clean, the glass is not cleaned, etc. Why continue a contract with a foreign company that everyone in Europe is happy with. The CEO of the company personally flew to Prague. He did not understand why the contract could not be renewed when everywhere in Europe the customers are satisfied. Let's divide the loot for ourselves and forget about the customers and the impression of Prague for tourists. It's bad, mother, you're running into thieves everywhere...JŠ

It was my pleasure to take part at Air Arabia Funtrip to Prague in November 2019. I am very thankful to Air Arabia airline and Miss Jana, former Vice-Ambassador at Czech Embassy in Rabat who arranged it. Please enjoy some of my reportages about Prague. Prague was a popular destination for Moroccan tourists and hobeymooners. We were so happy to have direct line from Casablanca. I lived for many years in Spain but Prague took my breath. I hope to come back. But with coronacrisis we can travel just via films like mines. Morocco is still closed.

Miss Jana opened a new world for me-world of history, art, culture, high developped society to inspire us. I wish her good luck. She must fight for her present and future, for her parents. She is a Women of Great Value. Not only woman but Diplomat with big D. Her works speak for her.

Prague trip was short but full of inspiration and some humour too. I found even Arabic invitation to city tours and Louis de Funes accompanied me around. You rrmember that scene from funny story about Saint-Tropez polcemen? Just like today - needing to please the boss....

It has been more than thirty years since working class rule ended in this country. Another would say rather the reign of the working class rabble, murderers and thieves. A government of the people that did not shy away from (re)stealing from the able, the hard-working and the successful, or punishing those who disagreed. But the Bolsheviks have not only not disappeared from the streets of our cities and public functions to this day, they have above all remained in the heads and minds of people who have not even experienced the dictatorship of the proletariat (properly) themselves.

Die Verbindungen zwischen Justiz, Polizei, Politikern und Kriminellen funktionieren heute noch genauso wie in den 1990er Jahren. Heute und jeden Tag können wir über mächtige Politiker, Geschäftsleute oder Lobbyisten lesen. Der Durchschnittsbürger würde sagen, dass dies ein ziemlich gutes Bild davon vermittelt, wer entscheidet, was in diesem Land geschieht. Wer die Fäden in der Hand hält. Aber das ist ein bisschen eine Medienillusion, eine Fata Morgana, eine Täuschung. Selbst der mächtigste Lobbyist, Geschäftsmann, Politiker oder sogar Richter ist in Wirklichkeit derjenige, der sich auf dem imaginären Olymp befindet. Und der höchste ist der Staatsanwalt. Ja, dieser einfache, bescheidene Beamte in der schwarzen Robe mit dem roten, blutigen Streifen. Der Generalstaatsanwalt. Genosse Staatsanwalt. Denn dieser Staatsbeamte verfügt über eine so große, vor allem aber so unkontrollierte und ungezügelte Macht, dass ihm niemand sonst in diesem Land das Wasser reichen kann. Er kann die strafrechtliche Verfolgung einer unschuldigen Person anordnen und niemand kann ihn daran hindern. Er kann die Strafverfolgung seines Bekannten stoppen und wieder ungestraft davonkommen. Wenn ein Genosse Staatsanwalt das will, kann ihn niemand aufhalten.

Updated 20.2.2022: I recommend the interview with detective Karel Tichy (CT 24, 19.2). The links between the judiciary, police, politicians and criminals still work today, as they did in the 1990s. I talked to Mr. Tichy at one of the PŘÍSAHA meetings before the parliamentary elections in Prague. A trustworthy man and human being. J.Š.

Today and every day we can read about powerful politicians, businessmen or lobbyists. The average person would say that this gives them a pretty good picture of who decides what happens in this country. Who is pulling the strings. But this is a bit of a media illusion, a mirage, a delusion. Even the most powerful lobbyist, businessman, politician or even judge is really the one who is placed on the imaginary Olympus. And the highest is the prosecutor. Yes, that simple, unassuming public servant with the black robe with the red, blood stripe. The Attorney General. Comrade prosecutor. For this officer of the state wields power so great, but above all so unchecked and unbridled, that no one else in this country can match him. He can order the prosecution of an innocent person and no one can stop him. He can stop the prosecution of his acquaintance and again get away with it. If a comrade prosecutor wants to, no one can stop him.

They want to convert the land into building land and sell it to developers for building construction at a profit of around CZK 200,000,000.

In den LN (24.11.2022) las ich einen Artikel von Jana Soprová, einer Theaterpublizistin, mit dem Titel "Eine unangenehme, aber umso wichtigere Erinnerung", und ich konnte nicht umhin, mich zu wundern. Die Aufführung von "Stavovské národu" - die einzige Aufführung am 18.11.2022... Es ist klar, dass wir nicht nur den Unfug realisieren können, sondern auch so wenig wie möglich erinnern - auch nach 102 Jahren! Das sagt nichts Gutes über unseren Charakter aus. Wenn wir nicht in der Lage sind, unser eigenes Versagen einzugestehen, dürfen wir uns nicht wundern, wenn wir weiterhin versagen.

Ich besuchte das Ständetheater in dem Glauben, dass ich auch das Buch "Stavovské národu“ bekommen würde. Ich wurde an das ND-Geschäft im ehemaligen THEMOS-Gebäude verwiesen. Sie hatten dort die letzten beiden Exemplare. Eine davon wurde mir und auch, wie den Besuchern des Theaters,  gegeben. Das Buch handelt davon, wie das Ständetheater Teil des Nationaltheaters mit dem Titel "Stavovské národu!" wurde. Es wurde 1991 in der 1. Auflage veröffentlicht. Die Anzahl der Exemplare ist nicht angegeben, eine 2. Auflage wurde nicht veröffentlicht. Das Buch kann nicht gekauft werden. Schade, es wäre auch heute noch erhellend. Das Verhalten der tschechischen Gesellschaft und der Politiker von damals unterscheidet sich nicht wesentlich von dem von heute.

In LN (24.11.2022), I read an article by Jana Soprová "An unpleasant but all the more important memory", a theatre publicist, and I couldn't help wondering. The performance of "Stavovské národu" - the only performance on 18.11.2022... It is clear that we can not only realize the mischief, but also to remind as little as possible - even after 102 years! It does not say anything nice about our character. If we are unable to admit our own failures, let us not be surprised that we continue to fail.

I visited the Estates Theatre in the belief that I would get the book "Stavovské to the Nation", too. I was referred to the ND shop in the former THEMOS building. They had the last two copies there. One was given to me, as well as to visitors. The book is about how the Estates Theatre became part of the National Theatre called "Estates to the Nation!". It was published in 1991 in the 1st edition. The number of copies is not stated, the 2nd edition was not published. The book cannot be purchased. Too bad, it would be enlightening even today. The behaviour of the Czech society and politicians of that time is not much different from today.

Czech plebeianism, provincialism and petty bourgeoisie were warned against by K. H. Borovský, F. Palacký, TGMand A. Švehla. They would also warn us today - that is why the world does not take us too seriously, even today...
