Re: Request for support of political prisoner Ing. Jiri Fiala

Dear Sirs,

As a chairman of the Civic Association SODALES SOLONIS I would like to ask you for your kind support of a political prisoner Ing. Jiri Fiala who has been groundlessly and contrary to the Czech Law and the Law of EU taken prisoner for the fourth time, this time from February 16, 2011. Since May 3rd, Mr. Fiala holds a hunger strike in prison in Pankrac, Prague, and his situation is becoming very critical. During the last court hearing in Prague, na Micankach, on June 8, 2011, the proceedings due to ill health of Mr. Fiala, who has already lost 15 kg of his normal weight, had to be suspended and adjourned to July 18, 2011, 9 a.m. After I politely requested that Mr. Fiala be given a chair to sit on during his examination before court, the Judge banned me from the courtroom.

Mr. Fiala was successful with his claims against the Czech State before the European Court of human rights in Strasbourg; the Czech courts do not respect, or more precisely, they ignore decisions of this Court in which the previous three incarcerations had been declared unlawful. For example, during an open hearing before the County Court of Kladno, Mr. Fiala was on the Judge´s order for almost half an hour left with the hand cuffs and was surrounded by four members of the judicial guards and police, as if he was the gravest criminal! Mr. Fiala couldn't therefore even take notes. The Czech mainstream media still don´t inform general public about this scandalous case.

With this case in mind I turned to the director of the AI in the Czech Republic, Mrs. Dasa van der Horst, who, on May 31, 2011, told me on the phone that she is not allowed to intervene in cases of so called “prisoners of conscience” in the countries where she operates. She therefore allegedly reported the case of Mr. Fiala to your headquarters in London. And because of that I presume you are thoroughly informed about this case. If you need any additional information, please do let me know and I will provide it straight away. Otherwise I can recommend the website www.k213.cz for up-to-date details.

The public would welcome the participation of the representative of the AI as an observer at the next court hearing with Mr Fiala which takes place on June 15, 2011, at 9 a.m. at the District Court in Nymburk, and possibly also on July 18, 2011, at 9 a.m. in Prague, on Micanky.

Thank you in advance for providing any form of support and assistance to Mr Ing. Jiri Fiala. The situation is becoming very critical and alarming. The life of Mr. Fiala is in an imminent danger!

I wish you much of luck in your efforts for the victory of justice, freedom and fairness in the world.

Best Regards,

Jan Sinagl (in his own hand)

In the report on the state of human rights, courts and corruption are criticized in the Czech republic

Sweden and Norway have achieved the best rating in the annual report on the situation of human rights in nearly 70 countries monitored, which was published on the Internet. On the contrary, the report draws attention to the weak protection of fundamental rights of citizens in China and the serious deficiencies in Russia. Czech Republic has been included in the elite category of 23 countries which were evaluated as the best, but received criticism for its slowness of judicial proceedings, corruption of officials and the lack of penalties for infringements. In comparison with other countries in the highest category, the Czech Republic also has a relatively high crime rate. Three Eastern bloc countries managed to get to the group of best evaluated countries. With the Czech republic also Estonia and Poland, and these two have even better ratings then the Czech republic. Respect of fundamental human rights earned a very high mark for the Czech republic, and in this respect the country holds the 9th place in the world.

Hello there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was
wondering which blog platform are you using for this website?
I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at options for another platform.
I would be great if you could point me in the direction of
a good platform.
