Since the beginning of the epidemic, we have heard that the greatest risk lies in the congestion of hospitals and the collapse of health care. For many months, the IHIS showed us terrifying graphs of hospital overcrowding, and various experts with sullen faces warned against the collapse of the entire system. When all the prediction models of "experts" from ÚZIS, BISOP and MeSES repeatedly failed, the restrictive measures were always justified in the end by the need to prevent the collapse of health care.
Finally, numbers are available to illustrate the scale of this catastrophe. Before reading on, try to estimate how the number of hospitalizations changed between 2019 and 2020.
Between 2019 and 2020, the number of acute hospitalizations fell by 17.2 percent and in follow-up care by almost nine percent. Yes, you read that right - dropped. This is not fake news, as this information comes directly from a man who calls himself the "head of Czech statisticians" - the director of IHIS Ladislav Dušek.
Because they did not believe their own eyes and ears, colleagues from the Healthy Forum requested information under the Act on Free Access to Information directly from health insurance companies. Indeed, the largest Czech health insurance company, VZP, confirms that in 2019 it reimbursed 189,000 cases of hospitalizations in intensive care beds, which is almost the same number as in 2018 (188,000 cases) and 2017 (190,000 cases). But in 2020, when the health system was reportedly close to collapse several times, it reimbursed only 171,000 of these cases. That's a drop of more than 10 percent. In 2020, Kovid patients accounted for less than 5 percent of all hospitalizations in intensive care beds. Data from other insurance companies are very similar.

Director Dušek adds to this remarkable information: “This is probably the best indicator of the load on the hospital system. Acute inpatient care has been declining for a long time, as many diagnoses are moving to the outpatient segment. It has fallen by 19 percent over the last ten years, or about two percent a year, from 2019 to 2020 it has fallen by almost the same percentage. It is clear that it must have manifested itself somewhere. "

The efficacy of vaccines is recognized by the fact that most new infections in Israel are fully vaccinated [2]. And the safety of vaccines is recognized by the fact that the US Registry of Vaccine Adverse Reactions contains more deaths from coronavirus vaccines than from all other vaccines in the last 30 years combined [3].

[1] About 15 in 100 people in the United States commit suicide in the 15-24 age cohort. The mortality rate of covid-19 in the age cohort 0–34 years is about 4 per 100 thousand infected. So even if all the young people become infected, he still commits more suicide than dies on the covid.
[2] Of course, this would not be so bad if the vast majority of the Israeli population were fully vaccinated. But about 62 percent of the population in Israel received both doses of the vaccine. So if the vaccine had no effect at all on whether you were infected or not, we would expect 62 percent of those fully infected. I could not find the exact number, but the claim that most new infections are fully vaccinated is quite clear in this context.
