Citát dne

Karel Havlíček Borovský

Zeme a vesmirRussia started it with the occupation of Afghanistan and the assassination of the popular President Taraqi. When he spoke on TV, Afghans stood at attention in awe. The Russians may have built great roads in Afghanistan, but they were supposed to serve them too.

Et the time of Hanzelka and Zikmund, Afghanistan was a peaceful, hospitable country where centuries-old traditions were honored and women went without headscarves. What right did we have to interfere in their lives? Did they interfere in ours? We forced another culture, tradition and customs to interfere in our culture, tradition and customs too, in the interest of our own self-preservation. By what right? Did they interfere with ours first? Causes always have consequences. Today we are reaping the well-deserved fruits. The Arabs did not start it, but our "advanced" Western world, whose rampant consumerism and pursuit of profit at any cost, has stopped at nothing and will stop at nothing, as we see today.

Are drugs, pornography, alcohol, the loss of natural distinctions between men, women, cultures and races the mark of Western maturity?

9/11 can therefore be seen as the result of the intervention of the 'advanced' West in an 'undeveloped' world. God's just retribution...

Reagan once invited the Mujahideen and consulted them on how to curb extremism in Afghanistan, aware of the dangers, years later it was confirmed.

Do we blame the Senegalese for pouring pois1ons into the sea?

Are they not also victims of the uncontrolled amount of waste produced by the West and of the way of life imposed on them, which they have roared for centuries? As long as they lived their lives, they respected the laws of nature more than today's Western "developed" world. I wonder how much waste from the West ends up in poor countries?

We still have the same parties in the judiciary, police, political parties, media in the authorities.

The same people still do what they want with us. We watch them every day in the media, we listen to the same talk, but we don't meet them on the streets. The people who have something to say, the real representatives of the citizens and common sense, do not get to speak, let alone on the candidates of political parties, or only rarely, marginally. There are more and more of them. It is only a matter of time before they, too, get their say.

The country's biggest super-rich are investing their billions in space instead of trying to save the country.

We are facing global famine and mass migration for "bread, water and air". In the world, 6 million children die of starvation every year, 160 million people suffer from hunger - and we are throwing food in the trash. Approximately 40% of waste in the Czech Republic is bio-waste! Not even animals behave like this. They know when they have had enough.

The Americans have spent $2260 billion in Afghanistan over 20 years, with the result of instability, poverty and mass migration. That's 367 times the amount needed to address world hunger, not to mention Russia and other countries where the above amount would have grown considerably more. The arms industry is the 'cancer of the world' today. The first to call for the disarmament of the world was Countess Bertha Suttner-Kinsky. In 1889, she published the book "Disarm". She was the first Nobel Peace Prize winner and a friend of Alfred Nobel. The book was recently published for the second time in this country, by a small press of a few enthusiasts...

If the current system is unstoppable, will it stop itself, thanks to the laws of nature and the imperfections of man?

We can only hope that the coming crisis will bring to the forefront of the democratic countries of the world real leaders who will try to mitigate the imminent enormous damage to moral values, people and nature and give people a new chance to live their lives. It will no longer be about prosperity and luxury. Instead, we have a unique chance to stop filling our lives with mere mindless, empty, consumerist existence, but with a truly lived, meaningful life, where we care about others for the enrichment of our own and future generations.

God help us
