Hi Mr. Sinagl.
Last Saturday I went to visit my husband, and have to say that I was shocked to see how thin he is. He is always hungry, and his guard (here I have to point to expression used at this point by Mrs. Salter - vychovatel -, in Czech this means "pedagogue", "tutor", "educator" and such; Communists used this expression to instill in the minds of political prisoners the main reason for their custody - "re-education", and in the minds of guards, mostly under-educated, illiterate bums, their so called superiority over their charges. It is really ironic that the today's Czech penal system still uses this absolutely idiotic Communist expression for prison guards) told me, if he is so hungry, he can go to prison canteen to buy anything he wants over there. And if he has no money, too bad for him. In prison, my husband cannot work (he doesn't speak Czech, which is discrimination), and for that reason he has no money. From what I send him, they take half to cover his incarceration on Pankrac prison.
Next Monday I have a meeting with another attorney, who wants to check if the appeal to Brno was actually sent at all. Dr. Slovacek (his present attorney, J.V.J.) supposedly sent this appeal to district court in time. My husband do not believe Mr. Slovacek, and I myself have doubt about him, too. I will have to look into his activities. He is telling me that he still did not receive any money from the state for his defense of my husband. He is his attorney over 1 1/2 year. It is my believe that it is Judge Kadlec who is behind all of this delay to keep my husband in prison as long as possible. Next week I plan to visit US Embassy to have a talk there with connection to coming US elections, because I have a feeling that Democrats will lose.
It is really disgusting what they do here with my husband. When I visited Slovacek last week, I had a feeling that he doesn't care about my husband at all. Tuesday I had a talk with my husband's "vychovatel"- guard - and he told me that my husband is quite depressed, because he is imprisoned over year and half for something he did not do. I have a real concern about his mental health.
He is sending his greetings, next week I will know more.
I will have to start fight more against this injustice that is going on in this country.
Wish you great weekend.
Sincerely,
Sylvie Salter
