Diplomats are the showcase of every country - the Czech one is a disgrace. The citizens are not informed, the media and politicians are obediently silent, although they have been informed by me for years. When will the media taboo, reminiscent of the totalitarian era, end? His son Michael and nine friends said goodbye to this extraordinary man on July 27, 2022, in the small ceremonial hall of the crematorium in Prague's Strašnice.
Mr. Mrzílek was a great help to me as an experienced, knowledgeable, wise man, an expert in Czech and world history and Czech character. Many of his observations, comments and articles are also part of this website. Honour to his memory - a truly exceptional man to whom I owe much and can never be grateful enough. In the spirit of his legacy, and in his name and memory, I will continue my work. He was my spiritual mentor, he appreciated the necessity of my work, my civic engagement. The public media never showed any interest in him, although he had much to say to the people, which the general public still has no opportunity to learn...

A heavy desilution
When the filmmakers ask about his bitterness, he says in a humble but dignified tone, like a sober and deliberate articulate person who doesn't want to fool anyone: "Me? I have not lost hope. If I had lost hope, I would not be sitting here. We take hope and we have it, we beg or we get it, but we cannot give hope. I believe that when hope is based on a lie or on self-deception, which is an even worse kind of lie, it is perhaps even more dangerous than terror."

Ján Langoš and I knew each other personally, and I appreciated our mutual appreciation of each other's work. Others resented his work and activities, just as many resent his work today. His tragic death may not have been an accident at all. It is an honour for me, in the name of his lasting legacy, to build on his work and activities. The ÚSTR (Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes) remembered his memory on its Facebook page and by remembering Jan Ruml on its website.
I took the photo of Ján Langoš and Václav Benda at the ÚSTR in 2014 before the ÚSTR Council meeting - he is no longer in the room today? Who removed it and at whose instigation? Let's keep our fingers crossed that the new leadership of the ÚSTR will herald a return to its roots and that both photographs will soon return to their rightful place - as a symbol of the ÚSTR's return to the necessary work, educational mission and for which it was founded.

A group of health care workers who sued their hospital over a COVID-19 vaccine mandate are slated to receive $10 million, according to a settlement agreement filed on July 29.
About a dozen workers at the NorthShore University HealthSystem in Illinois lodged the suit in October 2021, arguing that the facility was illegally not granting religious exemptions to the mandate. After eight months of negotiations, the workers and NorthShore “have agreed to settle this case,” according to a memorandum filed in federal court. Full Article>

Senator Asks CDC to Clear Up Conflicting Statements on Vaccine Safety Research

The results of the audit were handed over to the police in the past. In the end, criminal investigators assessed that the purchase of overpriced tickets was not a criminal offence and returned the matter to the Ministry to investigate whether there had been a breach of internal regulations.
"The MFA's investigation did not prove that such a violation had occurred," the ministry said. The ministry did not specify the reason for which the office eventually shelved the case, saying that "the MFA does not publish the results of internal controls." Pay I the state hundreds of thousands of crowns in fines for freedom of speech, only to have its employees "squander it" in this way, going unpunished when no one is personally responsible for anything? That's how it was under the communists...
In this context, I would like to remind you of the letter of Jan Lipavský, MP for the Pirates, today's Foreign Minister, to Prime Minister Andrej Babiš regarding the appointment of Adam Vojtěch as Czech Ambassador to Finland, dated 18 February 2021. It is a custom in other countries that diplomatic "trafikas" are also given to former politicians or soldiers. The problem is if their character and professional abilities are not a priority (remember, for example, the Czech ambassador to Slovakia, Livia Klausová, daughter of the war criminal during the Slovak state, Stefan Miština).

The crises that the concern of Tomáš and later his brother Jan Antonín Bata had to go through during the First Republic were not different in their consequences from the crises we are struggling with today. U.S. senator is asking the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to clear up conflicting statements on whether a specific method of COVID-19 vaccine safety research is being conducted.
Sen.
