Citát dne

Karel Havlíček Borovský

Corruption at the highest level of the EU: secret meeting in Suite 412

  • Episode VIII: Czech-Marocco Gate series continued - Chargé d'Affaires a.i. in Moscow Jiří Čistecký versus visa fraud in Morocco

Updated 17.12.2023: Corruption at the highest level of the EU: secret meeting in Suite 412  - "We should sanction the perpetrators by denying visas and seizing their assets abroad." MEP Michael Gahler

So who was Badraoui anyway? And what was his interest in A. Bahaddou's visas?

Badraoui LorencI was asked a similar question by MFA lawyer Jiri Slays last year - why were the Moroccans interested in uncovering visa fraud and why, over time, did they give me some of their tapes of embassy wiretaps related to visas? In a legal society, such a question shouldn't even come up: after all, everyone should be interested in following the law, in the correct execution of the visa agenda, and in not encouraging human trafficking. In practice, however, we all know that in Arab countries many people turn a blind eye. In Morocco, on the other hand, many people are happy for their people to move to Europe and to make money out of it. Some are just looking for a better material life, others want to spread the Muslim faith in Europe, and still others engage in various not entirely legal activities. On the other hand, however, Morocco is a strategic partner of the EU and receives a lot of money in projects to combat illegal migration and to solve asylum problems.

Morocco cares very much about the reputation of the country and its ruler, much more than the Czech Republic.

In Slovenia it is said that communism worked on the principle of first slandering the inconvenient people and then liquidating them. Unfortunately, this continues today. For example, the Slovenian left constantly slanders our former Prime Minister Janez Janša, who was even imprisoned for several months. This was unjust. I am surprised that the same practices are normal in the Czech Republic today. It seems that the days of Václav Havel are irrevocably gone. What the Czech Foreign Ministry allows itself to do is beyond tolerable limits.

Prime Minister Fiala promised the voters decency, which, along with the fight against corruption, is what his entire government is committed to.  In his speech on the anniversary of 17 November last year, he literally said that he was glad that the time had finally come "when people do not have to worry about being condemned for something they did not do". Unfortunately, this is not yet the reality in the Czech Republic. Over the last four years, I have heard many cases where people have not been able to obtain justice and the truth even through the courts. They have lost their jobs, their good name and their life's momentum under the weight of corruption, bullying, revenge and the dysfunction of some aspects of the current system.

Unfortunately, the methods of the STB, or in our case UDBY, are still used today and happy are those who live their lives peacefully and quietly without encountering any of this. I felt like in the old days or in a movie in 2019 in Morocco. On my last visit, I witnessed the manipulation and brutal liquidation of a decent man who always helped others, who did his job with his heart, a man who cared about the good of Europe. One of those who nailed the nail in the coffin of his job was MFA psychologist Eva Pavlovská.

Update 3.10.2023:Discussion. We need an ambassador in Russia - My comment. His wife was promoted for drunk driving. Diplomat Dr. Jana Chaloupková (20 years in diplomacy, 12 languages) was fired for her honest work in the style of the 1950s. Hybášková covers up corruption and crimes with inaction and silence. Her husband can't not know it, but he's fine with preaching good manners - hypocrites or psychopaths?" (Seznam.cz 3.10.2023) - ČRoPlus (1.10.2023 17:15) Senator Pavel Fischer, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security. He can talk a good game, but that's all. He has refused to deal with this case, saying it is "not a committee matter" but Slovakia is? Another hypocrite looking after his good home. He no longer responds to my repeated information, nor does the chairman of the Security Committee, Pavel Žáček (who does not respond at all). All the media are still silent about this case, the question is how much longer? The governments of Poland, Germany and Italy have been informed. The Czech Republic is more involved in their refugee problems than they know, including the public. The Czech Interior Minister Vít Rakušan said today: 'We are actively trying, together with the EU authorities, to solve the migration problem.' He should address it primarily with the Czech Foreign Ministry...The administration of the state is collapsing, its incompetence is becoming increasingly apparent. Freedom of speech and the public's right to information come at a price - State pressure on media to declassify sources. French journalist ends up in detention.

In response to Ursula von der Leyen's visit to Prague and the current visa scandal in Poland, we are changing the topic of the 5th part of this issue. Prime Minister Petr Fiala has now said during a meeting with European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen in Prague: 'We are ready to participate in the protection of the EU's external border. Our goal must be to prevent people from going to Europe at all, to prevent human smugglers from being active."
