I attach for discussion the opinion of a Ukrainian journalist in Kiev on the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus gave up their nuclear weapons to the RF in 1996. The Budapest Memorandum of December 5, 1994 is the only agreement in which Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus - the 3rd former nuclear powers - gave up their nuclear weapons in exchange for their security back in 1996. This anniversary took place without any media coverage. The memorandum could be a model for other states such as Iran, North Korea, etc.

However, a letter from a journalist in Kiev shows that the Memorandum is not, at the moment, a topic in Ukraine. The Budapest Memorandum, as a guarantee of the territorial integrity of states in return for the abolition of nuclear weapons, should be a topic not only for NATO, including the US, but for Swiss diplomacy and also a solution for Iran and North Korea.

Why is the Budapest Memorandum not a topic if there is nothing better?

Die deutsche Besatzung der Tschechei vollzog sich ohne jeglichen Widerstand. Hitler jagte bei nächtlichem Schneetreiben über vereiste Straßen nach Prag, um noch vor Hacha im Hradschin anzukommen.

Ich hatte inzwischen in Berlin dafür zu sorgen, daß der Rückflug des greisen Staatsmannes entsprechend lange verzögert wurde. Mit größter Eile trieb Hitler nun auch die staatliche Eingliederung der Tschechei in das Großdeutsche Reich voran. Sicherheitspolizei und SD übernahmen die Leitung der vollziehenden Gewalt und arbeiteten eng mit der tschechischen Polizei zusammen. Letztere war eine ausgesprochene Elitemannschaft, sowohl schulungsmaßig wie äußerlich, was Himmler zu der Bemerkung verlockte: " Ausgezeichnetes Menschenmaterial, ich werde sie alle in die Waffen-SS übernehmen."

We received from Poland a remarkable text, the Russian version of which was found in the office of former Polish President Boleslaw Bierut. It contains directives from the Moscow headquarters of the KGB, sent to a cell of that organisation working at the Soviet embassy in Warsaw. They were written in 1947. The cold methodicalness with which the KGB prepared the country's complete subordination to the interests of the superpower must still raise eyebrows today. And it also raises the question: Did the KGB cell at the USSR embassy in Prague receive similar instructions? It is not impossible, some points of the instructions are too reminiscent of the main principles of the political practice of the Communist Party in the 1950s.

A Polish translation of the instructions was published in the September 2, 1989 issue of the U.S. magazine DZIENNIK ZWIAZKOVI (Zgoda), citing the text published in the Polish newspaper. The Czech text is as accurate as possible and, given what we know of the authors, we waive any claim to beauty of style.

Im August 2021 soll Russland einen militärischen Konflikt mit Japan geplant haben. Das berichtet ein Whisteblower des russischen Föderalen Sicherheitsdiensts in einem geheimen Brief. Russland habe angesichts des Kurilenstreits einen „wahnsinnigen Kriegswillen“ gehabt. Doch dann griff das Land die Ukraine an.

Bevor der russische Präsident Wladimir Putin seine groß angelegte Invasion in der Ukraine startete, soll er einen Angriff auf Japan geplant habe. Das geht aus dem Brief eines russischen Whistleblowers des Föderalen Sicherheitsdienstes (FSB) hervor. Der Brief ist in einer Mail enthalten, die der US-Nachrichtenseite „ Newsweek “ vorliegt. Die Seite berichtete zuerst über den mutmaßlich geplanten Angriff Russlands auf Japan.

He said nothing new in his speech at the UN. Why did he not mention the Budapest Memorandum of 5.12.1994 (English Version)? He should have used it as a strong, argumentative basis for his speech. Of more value were a few sentences by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

I quote from President Paul's speech: 'The Czech Republic recognises its global responsibility in this regard and will continue to ensure that no one is left behind. I personally pledge to engage with the international community to meet the urgent tasks that must be done." Fine words and promises. Now to be active within my own remit and in my own country. Talking about "global responsibility of the CR", in a country where no one is accountable for anything, where corruption is destroying the country, is very presumptuous...

I quote from my foreign correspondence: The Kremlin leadership has about 10 of them with Ukraine (the one of 5.12.94 is the main one). It would be suitable for the future for the whole humanity. The Kremlin also has a treaty with Kiev on Sevastopol from 2010, or on the Sea of Azov, etc. Then the talk would be not about Kosovo, but about why the RF - broke that agreement and also why the US, GB, France and China (signed later) did not act already in 2014 (after the so-called annexation of Crimea)? Perhaps, they were worried that after 34 years of peace, they (or NATO) would not be able to do something...

Der Politikwissenschaftler Andreas Heinemann-Grüder vom International Centre for Conflict Studies in Bonn warnt vor Putins perfider Strategie im Kampf gegen den Westen. Angesichts massiver russischer Probleme beim militärischen Feldzug gegen die Ukraine versuche der Kreml-Chef, den Westen zu schwächen, indem er Kriegsangst verbreite, Panik schüre und damit bürgerkriegsähnliche Zustände heraufbeschwöre.

To hold the World Cup at a time when children and civilians are dying in Ukraine, when it is fighting for its freedom and for the preservation of its moral values and those of the Western world, is a calling card for the moral decay of the world. That Germany lost to Japan is not surprising - the fighting spirit and the necessary commitment have been eroded.

Let us remember the brave Věra Čáslavská and her protest at the Mexico 1968 Olympic Games, when she reminded the whole world of the criminal Russian occupation of Czechoslovakia. Money destroys the spirit of sport and with it the necessary moral and ethical values. Without them, freedom and a developed society cannot exist on a sustainable basis and will gradually collapse. Material misery will inevitably follow, if material values are the highest priority at all costs.

The article The Wilderness will swallow 220 billion(LN 24.11.2022), describes it exactly. The stadiums and infrastructure in Qatar were built with petrodollars, with the labour and skill of others. When cars run on hydrogen, perhaps Qatar will become a wilderniss again. It has already become that moral of "wilderness and desolation". 

I am in favour of the equality of all before the law, without distinction of race, culture and faith, but I am also in favour of preserving the nature of man and woman, which alone can create a good family and be the pillar of society. Once it is violated, it will not end well. JŠ

Denis Davidov, of course, from the Ukrainian point of view. But he has not been that wrong with his progrnosis in recent months. 

Lassen Sie sich nicht überraschen. Der Träger der Puschkin-Goldmedaille muss sie sich irgendwie verdient haben. Ich erinnere mich, wie er vor einigen Jahren an der Universität von Chicagovor Studenten davonlief, die ihm unbequeme Fragen stellten. Er hatte keine andere Art, resp. Wahl zu antworten. Der "berühmte" Fall des "chilenischen Stiftes" und die Ankündigung einer Amnestie, die vor allem Mafiosi und Großkriminelle mit Verbindungen zur ODS schützte, zeugen von seinem Charakter. Bei unserem letzten Treffen in Lány anlässlich des Geburtstages des tschechoslowakischen Präsidenten T.G. Masaryk am 7. März in den frühen Morgenstunden dankte er mir dafür, dass ich den slowakischen Teil der tschechoslowakischen Hymne gesungen und damit einen Beitrag zur Würde des Gedenkens geleistet hatte. Die Musik der Schlosswache hat es "vergessen". Auf meinen Versuch, ihn auf dem Weg nach Prag anzusprechen, antwortete er mit "Sie sind kein Journalist für mich" und fuhr prompt mit seinem Auto davon. Ich verstand das als eine Anerkennung. Am Nachmittag, während der Gedenkfeier an der TGM-Statue auf dem Hradschin, standen bereits zwei Mitglieder der Geheimpolizei an meiner Seite. Wir hatten ziemlich viel gegenseitigen und verständnisvollen Spaß:-)

Seine Frau, Livia Klaus, ist übrigens die Tochter des Kriegsverbrechers Stefan Miština. Als Mitglied der slowakischen Geheimpolizei war er während des faschistischen Staates an der Beschlagnahmung des Eigentums der slowakischen Judenbeteiligt, die dann in Auschwitz ums Leben kamen. Niemand kann für seine Eltern, aber die ehemalige tschechische Botschafterin in der Slowakei, hat auf meine Anfragen in dieser Angelegenheit nicht geantwortet. Die Haltung der Tochter des "tschechischen Eichmann", JUDr. Karel Vaš, die ihren Vater verleugnete und den Nachkommen der Opfer ihres verbrecherischen Vaters ihr Beileid aussprach, sollte gewürdigt werden. Wolodymyr Saldo, der von den russischen Besatzern eingesetzte Chef der Militärverwaltung von Cherson, liegt offenbar in einem Moskauer Krankenhaus im Koma. Die Ärzte glauben, dass er vergiftet wurde.

Der Chef der von Russland eingesetzten Militärverwaltung im besetzten südukrainischen Gebiet Cherson, Wolodymyr Saldo, liegt mit Vergiftungserscheinungen im künstlichen Koma auf einer Intensivstation in Moskau. "Heute wurde er im künstlichen Koma mit einem Spezialflugzeug von der Krim nach Moskau geflogen", berichtete der russische Telegram-Kanal Baza am Samstag. Sein Zustand gilt als kritisch, eine Vergiftung wird als mögliche Ursache genannt.
