Russian corruption starts small but quickly spreads.
In President Vladimir Putin’s zero-sum worldview, elevating Russia to the status of a superpower doesn’t require strengthening his own country but rather by weakening the West’s post-Cold War order. The West needs to be more attuned to all aspects of Putin’s troublemaking — specifically his strategic deployment of corruption.
Take the case of his years-long, methodical campaign to enfeeble the Czech Republic with corruption. As a result, this stalwart member of NATO has become an embarrassing pro-Russia mouthpiece that excuses China’s antics in the South China Sea and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. More importantly, it radiates Kremlin-sponsored corruption across Europe.

The Voice of the Martyrs presents the inspiring new movie Tortured for Christ, a cinematic retelling of the testimony of VOM founder Pastor Richard Wurmbrand as written in his international bestseller Tortured for Christ. This movie was produced to honor the 50th anniversary of the book’s 1967 release.
Filmed entirely in Romania, including in the very prison where Pastor Wurmbrand endured torture and solitary confinement, this powerful film uniquely presents the story with live action rather than interviews. The dialogue is presented in English, Romanian and Russian (with English subtitles) to hold to the authenticity of this true story.
Tortured for Christ will be in theaters across the country on March 5th, 2018.

The photo of the Točník Castle was taken at noon today. As if the castle symbolically wanted to recall the past and the values that we no longer honor; without those we will return to the recent past. J.Š.
To all people I do wish good will – good will that is much better and useful then mean malice.
To people with good will I wish wisdom.
And to all of us, my wish is that people who are full of wisdom and good will shall also become people of action.
Remember, we are responsible not only for our own evil thoughts and deeds, but also for not do or act what and how we should.
It is not enough that we ourselves do not do evil deeds; we have to prevent evil, and do right things, too.

"What we didn't like," said ex-Foreign Min. Lubomír Zaorálek of ČSSD on Czech TV last Thur., "was that we knew that 90% of migrants were getting to Europe with the help of criminal organizations and that the profit from this ... was estimated at €6bn per year." He added that there were leaks about how these criminal organizations had contacts in political circles. As he was speaking, European leaders were again starting to press the CR and its eastern neighbors to accept refugee quotas. "Nobody at the summit but me said that we mainly need to be active in fighting against the smuggling mafia," Andrej Babiš told MFD the next day. "Nobody wants to talk about this." He then told TV Nova that if we are again outvoted on quotas, the existence of the EU will even be more threatened. Is this really what it's coming down to? A choice of defending the interests of criminal organizations profiting from illegal immigration, or the collapse of the vaunted European project?

Prague, 13 December 2017. The Bavarian state criminal investigation office Munich (LKA München) is starting the investigation of the killings of German citizens on the Iron Curtain in former Czechoslovakia. The respective criminal complaint was filed by the Platform of European Memory and Conscience in August 2016 with the German Federal Prosecutor General. The responsible persons include the last living members of the politburo of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia Milouš Jakeš, Lubomír Štrougal and Peter Colotka. The victims include eighteen-year-old Hartmut Tautz who was killed outside Bratislava in August 1986. This is the first time that Germany is investigating the killings of its citizens abroad during Communism, as well as the first time that high-ranking Communist officials are being investigated by a third country.
