Citát dne

Karel Havlíček Borovský

Tomas Bata and Jan Antonin Bata

  • Another attack on Bata - the film ÚSVIT! (Daybreak)

„Our life is the only object in this world that we cannot consider as our private property, because we have contributed nothing to its construction. It has only been bestowed upon us with the obligation to hand it on to posterity, multiplied and perfected. Our peers, therefore, and still more our posterity, have a right to demand an account of our life. This book is meant to be such a heartfelt accounting."

Tomáš Bat'a - THE MESSAGE OF TOMÁŠE BATI sn.

    ***

I saw it in the cinema in CinemaCity in Anděl in Prague. Nothing but a communist, subliminal agitprop in a new rendition, which follows the communist BOTOSTROJ. The question is, are the authors so incompetent, or are they all-powerful for the money? I'm not disputing the actual subject matter or the great acting by the lead actress, but to put two great subjects into one in this production is one big shenanigan, if I'm to remain polite.

Jan Antonin Bata and his associates are presented here as hard and ruthless businessmen. This film has absolutely nothing to do with his actual work, intellect and importance to society.

    ***

1930: Such a letter would be written by Tomas Bata to the Prime Minister even today !

  • Birth - dying - death

Mill John Stuart citat"Society can be its own tyrant, even when its laws are not tyrannical."

    ***

"Social tyranny is often far more dangerous than political tyranny. Even if it does not impose severe punishments, there is no escape from it; it penetrates deeper into all spheres of life and enslaves the soul. Protection from governmental power is not enough. It is also necessary to protect the individual from prevailing public opinion and from a society which imposes its rules on those who deviate, prevents the development of individuality and forces all to mould their character after its pattern."

    ***

"If all mankind were of the same opinion, and only one man dissented, the majority would not have the slightest right to silence the individual, just as that individual would not have the right to silence the majority, even if he had the power to do so."

    J. S. Mill "On Liberty"

    ***

Death belongs to life as much as birth. So does dying, as long as it is natural, not artificially maintained and prolonged. Nothing against the recovery of active people regardless of age, but if people are kept alive "on tubes and pills" when they have virtually nothing left of life, cannot have anything, and only exist undignified, it is against nature, natural and inhuman. Money is consequently lacking for healthy and other necessities. That it is primarily a huge, immoral business is telling of the state of the world today. That is also why there is a growing need for palliative care and an increasing number of requests to end life where the law allows it (Switzerland). Even death should be accompanied by freedom of choice. Incidentally, 6 million children die of hunger every year.

In order to make it easier to manipulate society, it is necessary to rid it of "aggressions and rebels", elements of unrest, i.e. to maintain prosperity and "harmonize" it - by promoting unnaturalness. This is the road to hell, contrary to real, natural life and its immutable principles.

  • Miloš Zeman: The European Union, and now I'm not just talking about the Czech Republic, is almost devoid of prominent business personalities

Bata Tomas a JanMiloš Zeman: "Small people do not like big projects" - J.A.Bata: "These are not bricks, these are human thoughts" - "We cannot let any hands be idle" - "Thank you, my friends, thank you for your work, for your loyalty, for your trust."

The J.A. Bata podcast this time on a very important topic, with a very important guest! In 2019, former President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman awarded the highest state decoration - the Order of the White Lion - to Jan Antonin Bata in memoriam. And it was with the former president that I talked not only about the reasons for the awarding of this order, who nominated him, where Miloš Zeman still sees the supporting ideas of the Bata company, which are, however, almost a hundred years old, but also about whether there are companies and people today that he perceives with the legacy of Bata. Who would he nominate for the Order of the White Lion this year? How does he perceive the contemporary world and its themes? And what would he say to students and what is his wish for our country? Find out all this in today's exclusive podcast, a pleasant listening wishes Petr Kopčil. For more information, visit www.janantoninbata.cz and www.nfjab.cz

From the interview: while Tomáš Bata is rightly adored, Jan Antonín Bata lacks this adoration and has even been wronged in his own way. By the way, it was also wronged by some members of the Bata family, so the idea was to correct a historical injustice.

Instead of an employee, a collaborator is a symbolic expression of the entrepreneur's attitude towards the people who not only report to him, but who share his work. It is one thing to have a theoretical idea and another to put it into practice. Poland has built a motorway network, the Czech Republic has talked about it rather than built it. That is the lack of visionaries, not fantasists.

Jan Werich: "We have few clowns, but we have many jesters."

We have few visionaries, but we have a lot of clowns who hate the very word vision, and unfortunately we have a lot of them in important positions. The outstanding economic figures today are more in the USA than in Europe. If a country is led by top businessmen, it can prosper.
