On 5 January 2024, the Oživení (Revival Society) invited us to a "breakfast with journalists" at the "Kavárna na Boršové" in Prague on the topic of the Whistleblowing Act. Moderated by chairwoman Šárka Zvěřina Trunkátová. The guests were Pavel Kodym (whistleblower, Office for Access to Transport Structure) and Jiří Kapras (Director of the MSp Conflict of Interest and Anti-Corruption Department - my entry from 26:45 min.). I took a PHOTOGALLERY and audio recordings (see names). About 6 journalists were present (CTK, probably also CRo, Seznam.cz and Transparency International). Basically no output. The public broadcaster CT was, of course, absent. The testimony of Pavel Kodyma was great and the whole country should listen to it! Below is an extract of the essentials from his speech.
Ten billion in subsidies, challenged by 3 billion that would last at the Authority's expense for 33 years. Czech Railways has increased its debt by 20 billion for the years 2020-2022. The misuse of subsidies is a distortion of the free market, illegal subsidies and not time-barred, according to the latest case law of the EU Court of Justice of December 2023. It also opens up the unauthorised subsidy of 12bn from 2008. 10 min after Minister Kupka learned of Pavel Kodyma's letter to the EU, he cancelled his appointment.

I also contacted the TI representative present in the matter of the international scandal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic (TI was also informed). His reaction: "I don't know how to grasp it!" Pretty sad to hear these words from a representative of an internationally renowned institution. The same is the attitude of the GOC, which blindly trusts the MFA's "evidence" and ignores the evidence received and the indisputable facts. What a force it must be, capable of silencing all media and responsible institutions that should act and do not act. You will find the answer to this in the testimony of Pavel Kodym.
He is a civic example to us all of how to start changing things ourselves. The current politicians have no interest in this and never will. They have usurped the country and its citizens for their own undeserved prosperity. They will not leave voluntarily. Only a crisis can replace them. It will be up to the electorate to vote for the same characters over and over again, or finally for those politicians who earn their trust and also do an honest day's work. Politicians must be constantly watched by the citizens. The ballot box is just the beginning. JŠ
