Citát dne

Karel Havlíček Borovský

Eisen_IIThe letter was handed directly to the US Ambassador (Norman L. Eisen) personally by me (14.6.2012). Mr. McCrae gave me full power and consent to publish all document pertaining to his case be it in English or Czech language. Copy of this letter was sent to US State Department, US Congress, including copies of all personal letters and other documents written in prison by Mr. McCrae. Named US institutions are following this case closely. It is without any question, that the rights to just and honest trial guaranteed by the Czech Constitution was in this particular case flagrantly and provably violated. Czech criminal investigation units and courts should serious charges such a murder in this case properly check and re-check, all allegations fully follow, and prove beyond reasonably doubt, and then charge the correct culprit. In this case, all evidence presented during the trial was circumstantial, without any at all direct proofs of any involvement by Mr. McCrae. Copies of all mentioned letters and other documents will be sent to Embassies of USA and Great Britain in Prague, and to the Czech Minister of Justice, Minister of Interior, anti-corruption police units and BIS. ESLPIt had earlier escaped my attention, but thanks to a Russian colleague, I was notified that the NGO Human Rights Watch wrote a letter in April to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) regarding the selection procedure for candidates from the Russian Federation. In this letter it expressed its grave concern over the manner in which the national slection procedure had been conducted and asked PACE to send back the submitted list of three candidates. This is the full text of the letter:

… One should also pay attention to how the following leaders were selected by Moscow. The next president was Antonin Zapotocky, co-founder of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Capo in Sachsenhousen concentration camp during WW2. The Netherlands unsuccessfully demanded his extradition for participation in execution of Dutch citizens. After his death in 1957, he was replaced by Antonin Novotny, communist party member since 1921 and Capo in Mauthausen concentration camp 1941-1945. And we can follow this pattern even after the so-called fall of communism. Vaclav Havel was approved to become the President by Moscow and Vaclav Klaus today is a KGB agent. Not to many people today realize that socialism, or communism—whatever we call it—leads only to corruption, lack of productivity and ultimately lack of morale by promoting unmotivated and lazy people. …

Fischer_JanJan Fischer is the human face of ‘Klausism’.
With Jan Fischer leading in the polls for president, it is worth asking what we might expect from him if elected by the people. May we dare to hope that he would use his popular legitimacy to press ahead with, rather than to obstruct, as President Klaus has obstructed, the painful task of healing the maladies of Czech politics?

No End in Signy: Institute for Historical Review

Since 1951 Germany has paid more than 102 billion marks, about $61.8 billion at 1998 exchange rates, in federal government reparation payments to Israel and Third Reich victims. In addition, Germans have paid out billions in private and other public funds, including about 75 million marks ($49 million) by German firms in compensation to wartime forced laborers, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper reported recently. These figures are based on calculations by the German Finance Ministry, the influential paper said.

McCrae_obalka_220512U.S. and UK citizen Mr. Gilbert McCrae wrote me another letter, this time already from Valdice prison. I attended most of the court hearings and just like the present public I was not convinced that the murder was proven to him beyond reasonable doubt. As per the legal principle IN DUBIO PRO REO (when in doubt, for the accused) he should have been acquitted and not to be sent to prison for 16 years for unsubstantiated murder. Appeal will be submitted to the Constitutional Court. One paragraph from the letter which relates to very serious facts I cannot afford to make public at this stage. Naturally, I am going to follow-up the case henceforth.

Czech_Army_we_are_professional… This a set-up and the situation is getting more interesting: Long before this just described situation, into the region of former Sudetenland, slowly and secretly a big number of Germans was moving in and illegally were acquiring land and real estates (?!?). At the same time, there grows a cases of collaboration of some Czech people with Germans, who in public media constantly pointing out on alleged crimes of (victorious) Czechs committed against innocent (defeated, and Nazis-indoctrinated) so called Sudeten Germans. And so on, exactly in the spirit of the best traditions of the Czech chauvinism and national myths. …

Pecina_31) Eavesdropping. Phone eavesdropping falls under the criminal arm of police investigation; also, to criminally charge a Member of Parliament or a Senator is permitted only after specific permission of the chamber this member belongs to. If judge issues permit to eavesdrop beforehand, he obviously presumes that such permission shall be granted, and in such case, he overreached not only his own jurisdiction, but also jurisdiction of judiciary.

Ed_Fagan_a_Michal_KlepetarA US court is being called on to deal with a Czech Holocaust restitution claim for the first time, in what has been described as a landmark case.

A Czech descendent of a Jewish family who perished in the Holocaust during WWII has lodged a complaint in a US court against the Czech state for the return of an art collection that was confiscated by the Nazis — and some of which is now in the hands of the Czech National Gallery.
