From the Polish TV programme Śledczym okiem (Watching Eye): Some members of the investigative commission have Kremlin connections. Established 10.3.2022 - 58 MEPs, including 3 permanent members of the investigative committee, voted against declaring Russia a "state sponsor of terrorism" on 25.11.2022 - AFD plays a key role in Russian disinformation pages against EU countries - Christine Anderson, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 13.3. "The exclusion of Russian athletes from international competitions is racism" - Italian MEP Andrea Cozzollino, who also sat on the Pegasus investigation committee, also voted against declaring Russia a state sponsor of terrorism. He left the committee after a corruption and espionage scandal broke in the EP involving Eva Kalliova, who allegedly bribed Qatari and Moroccan interests - Belgian investigators who accused him of corruption found that Cozzollino had accepted at least €600,000 from Moroccan intelligence officials.

The bribes, allegedly on behalf of this service, were handed over directly by Abbderrahim Atmoun, the Moroccan ambassador to Poland. In this way, the Moroccan intelligence service wanted to sweep under the carpet the case of illegal surveillance of European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, through the Pegasus programme. These destabilising actions were inspired by the Kremlin. The Pegasus programme made it possible to find evidence of this. According to the Spanish authorities, these actions were supported by the Russian military intelligence service, the GRU. According to the EP Committee of Inquiry, the Pegasus system was or still is used by Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, the UK, Greece, the USA, as well as Morocco, the UAE and others. The problem is that Radoslaw Sikorski receives, as of 2017, USD 100 000 per year for consultancy work on behalf of the UAE, plus the salary of an MEP. At least 7 members of the EP Commission of Inquiry may have links to the Kremlin. First indictment 12/2022, no one has been indicted yet?

Eva Kalliova's election campaign was supposed to be financed by Putin's man and friend Ivan Savvidis, a former member of the Russian Duma. Putin wrote him a handwritten thank-you note for his involvement in financing the separatists in Ukraine. He was also honoured by Putin. We have also had strange reactions, after the affair broke, when it turns out that the author of the Sophies Welt report says that she was very strongly pressured by Kalli to drop the Morocco issue from her mind, because the Pegasus investigation gave the impression that it was primarily about Poland and Hungary. This impression was indeed created. In general, there was an attempt to direct everything so that the countries concerned by the scandal - and let us remember that Morocco has been bugging, among others, the French authorities - would not talk about it at all. In the Pegasus Committee, which is linked to the Catargate case, it is almost frightening, because laws are being passed. The AFD representatives are the Kremlin's direct affiliate in Germany. Kremlin spokesman Peskov's daughter was employed as a theoretical intern in the EP.

USD 300 million was provided for lobbying in the EP, as reported by US intelligence services. Katargate is directly linked to Pegasus. It is strange when, out of more than 700 MEPs, 100 are allegedly involved in a corruption scandal. Many of them are on the investigating committee and have direct contacts with the Russian environment. Russian influence has been used to shape opinions and narratives. Whether knowingly or not, some people have simply succumbed to this money, lobbying influence and money. What is the resulting effect? Poland is attacked, Poland is criticized and therefore weakened - and a weaker Poland, at the moment, means a stronger Russia!

We can only hope that the investigation continues and that the efforts to sweep everything under the carpet do not prevail. The silence of most of the media does not exclude one or the other. Pretending to do one and wanting to do the other? We need shepherds, not pimps! Will the EU collapse, or will it start to play its role primarily in the area of morality and moral values? JŠ
