Citát dne

Karel Havlíček Borovský

Jasek PetrTwo pastors and a Czech aid worker are among four people standing trial for “crimes against national security” in Khartoum, Sudan. If found guilty on all charges, the men could be sentenced to death. The next hearing in the trial is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 26.

Those being tried include Rev. Hassan Abduraheem and Rev. Kuwa Shamal, both pastors in the Sudan Church of Christ; Petr Jasek, an aid worker from the Czech Republic; and Abdulmonem Abdumawla, another Sudanese national. Mr. Jasek’s family has asked The Voice of the Martyrs to bring his situation to the attention of American Christians, asking for prayer and advocacy as the trial continues.

Sinagl JanI do believe, that our country still have enough good meaning people, that we all together shall eventually correct terrible consequences of our totalitarian past that still presents threat to our society on cultural, economic and moral fields.

The importance of my news service “Hlas svobody a Democracie” (Voice of Freedom and Democracy) is gaining support, significance and respect. It’s one of a small group of independent sources that strive for the most objective reports in the Czech Republic. In our present critical times, such reports are more than needed. To continue my independent work, I have to ensure the financial footing for my activity. This is the only way to stay on course, even to expand my activity and not risk limitation, or even stoppage of my reports. I am turning here to all people who value my work and ask them for financial assistance to allow me to continue for our country, important service.

Prepared by John Nash, grandson of Jan Antonin Bata

The excerpts below were written by Antonin Cekota. He describes the detailed plan of Jan Antonin Bata, crediting him with the inspiration of a plan for buying a rusty old steamship to be used to transport shoes, shoe machinery, retail store equipment, and a group of young Batamen to India to accelerate the development of the new factory complex.

When the rights of one Czech couple [Jan Antonin Bata and his wife in this case] are threatened, the rights of all Czechs are endangered. Today this case is about J.A.Bata and Marie J. Bata's villa, tomorrow this could be you!

Errors, Mistakes, and Omissions

CORRECTIONS:

The recent news release published in the Prague Monitor was about my grandfather, Jan Antonin Bata.  The litigation in question was brought by me, my brother and sisters and my cousin. Most of this news release contains errors and mistakes.

Now to the corrections.

Tautz HartmuthJustice for victims killed during Communism

The Union of Victims of Communist Tyranny UOKG, the Platform of European Memory and Conscience and the Saxon Memorial Foundation for the Remembrance of Victims of Political Tyranny cordially invite to a press conference which will be held on Thursday, 25 August 2016 at 13.00 at the Federal Representation of the Free State of Saxony, address Brüderstr. 11/12, 10178 Berlin, Germany.

The topic of the press conference will be a criminal complaint which has been filed by the Platform of European Memory and Conscience with the German Federal Prosecutor General. It is directed against 67 persons of Czech and Slovak nationality covering the entire chain of command who are responsible for 5 cases of killings of German victims at the Iron Curtain which separated former Czechoslovakia from Western Europe.

The US has confirmed it is finally ready to cede power of the internet’s naming system, ending the almost 20-year process to hand over a crucial part of the internet's governance.

At the inauguration of a memorial to Hartmut Tautz, eighteen-year-old East-German refugee who was killed on the Czechoslovak-Austrian border in 1986, participants signed an open letter to 21 representatives of Communist Czechoslovakia calling on them to publicly apologise for his death and killings of other defenceless civilians on the Iron Curtain.

Trump finance 300614So how are we to rate Donald Trump's business acumen in relative terms? Is the cautiousTrump Clintonova businessman who minimizes risk, rarely fails, and shows a moderate return better than the brash businessman who often takes on highly risky pursuits, strikes out a lot, but also hits his share of grand slams? That's too subjective a question for us to answer, and the few numbers offered in this trope aren't very informative. It's an oft-cited statistic that Donald Trump "has" 515 companies, but a number of those businesses are only connected to him in tangential ways (e.g., through licensing agreements) and aren't owned or directly controlled by him. It's also an oft-cited statistic that about 80-90% of businesses fail within the first year to eighteen months, but such numbers typically refer to startups and small businesses, while much of Donald Trump's business empire involves expanding and building on existing large business lines and ventures.

Diky Ameriko YESThe first deputy of the Mayor of Plzen claimed: “It is just a question of only few months.” ButDiky Ameriko uriznut now, he is quiet, not only him, but his whole Cabinet, too. All corrupt circles associated with City Hall knew very well way ahead of time that it shall be years, because they need to drive the final price as high as possible, only for a single reason - so that everyone involved in this venture can usurp a piece as big as possible of this juicy quarry, when the final price will far exceeds the original price of the needed stone. They see the monument “Thanks America” as nothing more than the possibility of an indecent means for personal enrichment. Obviously, the Plzen’s City Hall doesn’t thank Americans at all. To take down existing pylons that were not a threat to anyone, only a week before the planed celebrations, is not just a quite a dirty deed, but a clear statement of the today’s situation that rules the City Hall. The present and former Diky Ameriko DVDCommunists presented their new power – the monuments to the former Border Guards are taken care of without any problems under the now ruling Communists.

The film document of Hana Borikova, “Thanks America – the Story of Plzen’s monument” was shown in Plzen on May 3rd 2016 in “Depo 2015” - invitation (I ordered a copy. Part of preview is enclosed, lest we forget!!!). So, in an official program Celebration of Freedom, there was not a place for it? I recommend buying a DVD copy, just 28 minutes of an excellent document! The speech of Col. Charles Noble should never be forgotten. His final words should be chiseled in stone!
